The Race of Carrying Burning BarrelsFestival in England

The ways in which a particular country holds a festival varies from one to another but they are share the same purpose of reminding a specific memory or event from the ancient time. On November 5th every year the villagers of Ottery St Mary Devon in England’s West Country is racing on the streets carrying above their heads the heavy barrels full of burning tar. This is one of the weirdest British traditions. While The West Country is holding their historical torchlight processions and a tradition of burning barrels and rolling them down the streets, the villagers of the Ottery are carrying the barrel above their head.
